By all indications patch 3.0.8 will be live by the time I get home from work (unless they royally mess something up, which is not out of the realm of possbility). In addition to the general patch day annoyance such as broken addons and long login queues, this is a the first major patch since release of the WOTLK.
I parsed through the patch notes and found all the new changes that caught my eye:
- Reputation rewarded for killing mobs will no longer automatically deprecate. This means trivial mobs will continue to give out their full amounts of reputation on kill for the majority of cases in the game (level 70 creatures in Stratholme, for example, will continue to award the full amount of rep to level 80 players seeking to boost their Argent Dawn faction).
This is pretty nice if you are interested in getting exalted with one old world fractions. In addition to argent dawn would change should also be extremely useful for fractions such as Timermaw Hold. - Arcane Shot: Mana cost lowered to match the cost of Steady Shot.
Hmm... Wonder if I should make a new Arcane shot macro and replace my steady shot one. - Kill Shot – Cooldown reduced to 15 seconds, down from 35 sec.
Woot, now I get to use Kill Shot for each pull! - Steady Shot: Now gains 10% of attack power as damage instead of 20%.
Bahh.. Too much hunter damage? - Volley: The damage has been reduced on all ranks by approximately 30% (including attack power scaling).
Gorilladin no more? Seriously though. I am not sure why hunter can't have a umber channeled AOE spell. - Holy: Circle of Healing now has a 6 second cooldown
Nerf hammer incoming! I don't raid much so my CoH don't get used that much. But this change has some serious ramifications for priest raid healers. Maybe it is time to seriously level my paladin again. - Hand of Reckoning(NEW): Available on trainers at level 16. It’s a 30 yard range taunt that causes Holy damage.
Finally pallys get a range puller. It does holy damage to target? Icing on the cake! It seems it is all pally love these days. - Mining veins and deposits no longer require multiple hits to receive all the ore. Players will receive around the same amount of ore, stone, and gems they would have received from multiple hits.
A win for everyone! Miners rejoice! Mine nodes stealer no more! - Reduced the cloth required to make a Bolt of Imbued Frostweave.
I am sorry but this won't be enough to get me to start leveling tailoring again. - Greatly reduced the materials required to make the self-only tailoring leg enchants (Master's Spellthread and Sanctified Spellthread), but these recipes no longer grant any skill gains.
Better than nothing. Something for tailors to be happy about. - Many high level enchantment recipes have had the amount of Infinite Dust and Greater Cosmic Essence requirements significantly reduced, but with Dream Shards being added to them.
Markup shards price for AH, check. Reduce dust markups for AH, check. - Emblems of Heroism can now be purchased at a 1 to 1 rate using Emblems of Valor.
I am sure this is a typo. 10:1 is more likely. (Edit, Pike pointed out this is correct as it is the 25 men version Emblem for 10 men version of Emblem. This bags the question, who is crazy enough to downgrade their emblem? Isn't that like trading gold piece for silver?)

It's 1:1 because you are downgrading your 25-man tokens for 10-man/heroics tokens.
Now if it was the other way, THEN it would probably be 10:1!
Ahh. Thanks Pike!
That makes sense. I was like: That would be too crazy.
