Tanking the Nexus

So as I mentioned I broke down and downloaded Wraith. I think the initial thrill was fun, and i charged in with my druid in feral form and some decent gear (pre-kara stuff) to tank Nexus, not once but twice (i could probably get a group every hour on the hour, since i can tank). The place sucks, i hate it. First, its a challenging instance. Whoever said the Wraith instances are easy haven't done Nexus yet. There are all sorts of things which make it particularly challenging. Whats more, as far as I can tell, the drops suck. Sure they may be upgrades if you walk into Wraith in 70 greens, but really they are quite bad at this point. There are 3 possibilities per boss, there is absolutely nothing that a feral druid can use. Further, with only 12 total possible drops, we are looking at a very sparse collection of loot. There are quest blues that are good, but yeah, do this one once or twice and forget about it.


First group did pretty well, no deaths. Me (druid tank), priest heals i think, hunter, mage, shammy i think. We had plenty of CC, were on vent, were rested, knew what we were doing, we had two or three T6 guys in there. (plus me the tank). All i can say is thank god Blizz nerfed it somewaht, the extra cone effect from swipe, plus ranged growl made it much less challenging. We did some CC but only when necessary.

Second group, 3 priests, a ele shammy who was healing. It was hard, long, painful. Everyone had skill, but we wiped twice, and it just took a long time. (that the other thing about this instance, for some reason the trash just doesn't go down quick, plenty of armor and 30k HP each, makes for slow deaths). So, yeah big step up in challenge level from level 70 stuff, even heroics (which hit hard but have low HP). I really don't want to tank that place again!
